Tune: "Walking in Sunlight"
Verse 1:
Tab-i-tha was al-so known as Dor-cas.
She lived in Jop-pa long, long a-go.
The poor she cared for, was al-ways help-ful,
And for the wi-dows clothes she did sew.
Chorus:
One day she died and they were so sad for
Nev-er a-gain would they see their fri-end.
They called for Pe-ter. Pe-ter could help them.
Such a good life should sure-ly not end.

Verse 2:
Pe-ter went to the room where they'd laid her.
It was up-stairs. He fol-lowed them there.
Wi-dows were weep-ing, show-ing the robes
She lov-ing-ly made with her ten-der care.
Chorus:
Pe-ter sent them out, knelt down and prayed.
He said, "Tab-i-tha I tell you a-ri-se.
He called the o-thers. They came in-side and
Pe-ter pre-sent-ed Dor-cas a-live!

Servants of the Lord
By Marian Baden / Concordia Publishing House
In Servants Of The Lord God chose some unusual people to serve him. Each of these describes a woman chosen by God to serve Him and other people. As you study what God reveals to us in His Word about these six servants of the Lord Miriam, Deborah, Hannah, Esther, Mary and Dorcas the Holy Spirit will work to assure you of the forgivness and eternal life Jesus won for you on the cross, to affirm your service to God and others, to motivate you to seek new ways to serve God and others and to provide you opportunities to praise God for those whom He has sent to serve you and others.
