Tune: "Count Your Many Blessings"
Verse 1 :
God spoke to Sol-o-mon with-in a dream.
Sol-o-mon would have to think a-bout his choice.
"What would you like me to give you?", God had said.
How will Sol-o-mon re-spond to God's own voice?
Chorus - Solomon :
Shall I ask for rich-es? Is it wrong?
Shall I ask for life that's ver-y long?
'Ore my ene-mies ask for vic-tor-y?
I will ask an un-der-stand-ing heart for me.
Verse 2: :
God was ver-y pleased with Sol-o-mon's replies.
Made him rich and fam-ous, also made him wise.
Taught him all a-bout the earth and sky and birds.
Peo-ple came from ev-'ry-where to hear his words.
Queen of She-ba came to hear him speak.
She had nev-er heard such words from man.
Not on-ly did he know these things,
He could make the best of judg-ments in the land.
