William Croucher was the father of the William Croucher who changed his name to William Crutcher.
When William Croucher died, his three youngest children were not of age because Phillip Penn, William's son-in-law, husband of Martha, gave bond on 3/1/1773 as guardian for Sarah, Molly, and Thomas Croucher with a George Penn as security on this bond. (Amherst Will Bk. 1, page 241. 3/1/1773). Guardianship bond for Thomas, Sarah, and Mary Croucher, oprhans of William Croucher, deceased.
Nathaniel Mantiply ( who evidently later married Sarah) submitted a guardian account on 9/2/1778 to the court.
