James Flack was born in Northern Ireland in 1708 and came through the Port of Philadelphia in 1733. The next year, 1734, he married Ann Baxter whose family were immigrants from Scotland. James and Ann were the parents of ten children. Their first two children died in infancy, so they used the same names for later children. Their children were: John, James, William, Andrew, Thomas, Joseph, George, and Sarah.

He was the father of Thomas Flack, our ancestor.
