POSTSCRIPT

Our grandmother, Jessie Woodson Crutcher Carrell who wrote this autobiography, continued to live at her home in the post office at Samnorwood, Texas after our grandfather's death. She didn't want to be a burden on anyone, and she wanted to remain independent as long as she could. She would go and visit with her three daughters, but she always returned to her home , and she was able to live alone until her death in 1969.

We remember her in a warm and loving way. The memories of the trips we made to Grandmother's house when we were children, remain in our hearts.
