This Tyrolean father is taking his children around the countryside as strolling minstrels to sing for the residents. This will help to pay for food for the family table.

He has trained them well. His daughter can play the guitar and the children have learned how to "yodel", a special kind of singing in which the voice quickly changes pitch. The listening family seems appreciative.

Possibly they will be invited to stay for the next meal or maybe they will be given a few coins.
