Ethel by Ralph Peacock
2017-11-13
Hello June
I am the grandson of Albert Brignall, Edith and Ethel's brother. Edith married Ralph. Ethel Married Harold Titcomb, a very successful US Mining Engineer, from Farmington in Maine, who secured commissions for Ralph to paint US President Herbert Hoover etc. I have several of his profile portraits and a painting Gladys Cooper but "Ethel" is currently on display in the Tate as an example of 1900-1910 painting

I was raised in Tuscaraws and Carroll counties of Ohio. As a child I spent time out in the country. I knew there would always be an apple tree in a place where the view would be beautiful and always thought Jonny had been there. To this day I think of when I will see him and thank him. At 75, that won't be long.

Wife and I spent a day on-site. VP Development Brunell Uni gave us superb tour, explaining many details of original construction, to how 5 bldgs used efficiently today. The nearby museum is truly a hidden treasure - little known about it.

A Highland Funeral by Sir James Guthrie
2017-04-15
On reflection and having obtained a print of the painting I think the mourner is not a lady but most probably her only elder sibling, her brother James, who would have been 9 years old at the time. How sad, it looks as though her mother already had 2 more very young children, the youngest being born only 12 days before the drowning.

A Highland Funeral by Sir James Guthrie
2017-04-12
From what I can make of the genealogical records there was a McGowan family living at Brig 0 Michael in 1881. The daughter Mary had married a John McCall in 1871 and they had a daughter Agnes born in April 1874 and she and her husband were living with her parents. There is then a record of the death of Annie McCall aged 7, daughter of John and Mary at Bridge of Michael on 9th October1881. The cause of death is not recorded. This coincides with the time the Glasgow boys were said to have stayed there. I suspect the little girl was known as Annie as they were all living with the grandparents McGowan and the Grandmother was also named Agnes. Both her father and grandfather were shepherds and I notice the sheepdog in the painting too. From what I can see there is a lady mourner by the coffin although I have read elsewhere that the funeral was an all male gathering.

Song - Alive Again
2017-04-05
I have been searching for sites like this where all opportunities to impact the life of children with the entire Bible could be explored. I must confess that this is more than a site it is a divine gold mine to influence and affect generations. Just at the tip of our fingers, we can raise children for great exploits for the Lord with the use of this site. This is an excellent site full of inspiration and great lessons for kids. My sincere and true prayer is that all who contributed to building this great treasure shall not lose their rewards in heaven in the name of Jesus. Thank you so much and remain blessed.
